Application Engineering

Description

An OMICRON application engineer is an expert concerning all matters related to the application of specific products, and possesses deep knowledge about the assets that can be tested with those products. They also frequently pass this knowledge on during training sessions or during the development of new products.

Requirements

You should have a degree in electrical engineering or energy engineering. In addition to these requirements, you should also have organizational skills and an openness to other cultures.

COMMERCIAL DIVISIONS

Description

OMICRON offers a range of job opportunities in Commercial Customer Support, Finances, Legal, Human Resources, Office Management and Facility Management.

Requirements

You should have completed a commercial training course during an apprenticeship, at a secondary school, or at a university. Ideally you should also have relevant professional experience and your English language level should be B1 or higher.

HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT

Description

A hardware developer works within the various disciplines of product development. These may include development and construction of analog, digital and power electronics modules, mechanical layouts for printed circuit boards and firmware for micro controllers, DSPs and FPGAs. During a product’s life­cycle, maintenance and servicing tasks may also be part of a hardware developers’ responsibilities. They may also take on the role of project manager, overseeing a wide range of tasks within a development project.

Requirements

You need to be passionate about working with electronics, firmware, software, or mechanics. Sometimes you will also a require project management skills.

 

INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Description

The roles within Information Systems include Client Administrators, a System Administrators, and Business System Administrators. They install, configure, and maintain IT applications. They may also oversee infrastructure and assist with the development of new systems.

Requirements

You should have an IT education, experience with various operating systems, PC hardware, and business applications. Ideally, you should be familiar with system networks, storage, VMware, Citrix, SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, MS Dynamics AX, MS Dynamics CRM, and MS SQL Server. You should be able to speak English well (B1 level or better) and enjoy working in an international team.

 

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

Description

A member of the marketing communications team creates promotional material for our products and services across a broad range of communication channels. They analyze our target groups and provide communication tools that convey the advantages of our products. Their work supports our global sales efforts.

Requirements

Depending on your specific range of tasks, you will need to have skills in PR work, copy­writing, visual design, digital media, or event management. Having an interest in electrical engineering and speaking more than one language are also helpful.

 

MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

Description

Materials Management is made up of various teams. Technical Purchasing works directly with projects in development to ensure that the materials needed for prototypes or a pilot series are available as soon as they are needed. This team also supports our external production partners by procuring critical components. Our Warehousing team is an in-house service provider, ensuring that the components required for electronics production and projects in development are always readily available.

Requirements

As a Technical Purchaser, you should have both commercial and technical knowledge.
Working in Warehousing and Dispatch often takes place under time pressure and requires you to work very precisely. You should be able to handle unusual customer requests to ensure that we are always ready to deliver our products.

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

Description

A product manager defines product requirements, plans development projects and oversees the maintenance of products throughout their lifecycle. They always remain in contact with our customers in order to ensure that our products meet the needs of the market.

Requirements

You should have a degree in electrical engineering or energy engineering. You should also be flexible, have business management skills, and enjoy communicating and traveling.

 

SALES

Description

Sales representatives sells our products and services, using their specialized knowledge in order to find the best solution for our customers. They present our products at customer sites, trade fairs and conferences.

Requirements

You should have solid technical knowledge in the field of energy engineering that enables you to provide exceptional service to our customers. You will need to help customers solve their problems by recommending solutions that will provide long-term value to them.

 

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Description

Software developers at OMICRON may work within concept design, architecture, implementation, automated quality assurance and maintenance. Guided by well-coordinated development methods, they work within teams that usually consist of programmers, software testers, GUI designers and usability experts. The software they create includes software embedded within our test equipment (Linux / C++), network software, PC applications (C# / .NET or C++ / MFC), database and client/server applications.

Requirements

You should be passionate about software development, enjoy teamwork, and always be eager to learn more. You should either have a solid sound computer science education or the corresponding professional experience.

TEST EQUIPMENT DEVELOPMENT

Description

Employees within Test Equipment Development work closely with the hardware and software development teams in order to create test facilities for products and electronic boards. They analyze, evaluate and document measurement results in order to improve both the products under test and the test facilities themselves. They are involved in optimizing the production process and continuously expand their knowledge about the technology used within our products.

Requirements

You should have a degree in electronics, a high level of quality awareness and an excellent understanding of electronic circuitry. In addition to that, you should have an interest in developing software (C#) for the automation of our test facilities.

USABILITY & DESIGN

Description

As a member of the user experience team you work either as an interface designer or a usability engineer. As an interface designer you are responsible for the visual design of our software products and the development and maintenance of our style guide. As a usability engineer you establish a user-centered-design process and support the development teams in each phase.
You will help to create truly stunning applications that have a real impact in the daily routine of our customers.
